I found Gigit in an alley about a year and a half ago on a cold February night. I tried to find her owner for weeks to no avail. Folks called and said they would take her if we didn’t locate the owner, but by the time we gave up on the search we fell in love with her. Our vet said she was about 1 year old at the time we found her. I was wondering if you could give me your opinion regarding what breed she might be closest to. She currently weighs 26 lb’s (20 lb’s when we found her) and is about 17 inches tall at the shoulder. Her coat is a mottled red & white (similar in pattern to a fawn’s coat), silky soft in texture and somewhat long (2”-3”) in the shoulder/neck area. She is very fine boned and petite so I suspect she’s either a “runt” healer or mixed with something else. Our vet said Kelpie. Friends say Red Healer or Australian Cattle Dog (are they the same?).
