McKENZIE
A black heeler? It appears to be true. We believe McKenzie is an ACD mix.
She is a rescue pup of unknown parents found along a country highway in
Mississippi at about 4 months of age and 20 pounds. We were looking for a
german shepherd mix, but although this girl is as smart as a GSD, she didn't
exactly look that way or act that way. After a lot of research, our vet and
we have concluded one parent must be an ACD. McKenzie herds our cats and
tries to herd our golden retriever. If she doesn't do what Mckenzie wants,
McKenzie bites at her back ankles. She is smart as can be, assertive and
nonstop energy. We are used to energic pups, but this girl just does not
tire out. She could play fetch and tag for 20 hous a day, I am convinced.
McKenzie is also not completely black. She has a red belly and the red is
spreading as she grows. It now extends down the inside of her legs. In the
sun, red highlights can be seen in her black coat.
We hope McKenzie can get a sense of belonging among these gorgeous and
awesome ACD's.
