MICHAEL

I found Michael on a road in Sonoma County when he was barely three months old. He had been thrown out of a truck. I picked him up out of the gutter where he had sort of rolled, and he immediately sighed and laid his head down on my chest, surrendering and going completely limp. I cried and cried. He's about to turn two now and he's been the best dog I've ever known. I have repeatedly been surprised by his high intelligence and his deep loyalty. I have trouble keeping him from getting bored sometimes, especially on my three work days, but I make an effort to keep him stimulated. His latest trick is to shut the door after he and our other two dogs come in from the yard. You can see from the toys on the floor around him (yes they are all his and more too) and his big ACD smile that we gladly do a lot to keep him happy. Lots of wags from Mike and Jess.
