This is Rubie. She is approx. 4 months old in this picture. I work for an ambulance Squad in Pennsylvania, and had a call at the local SPCA. the person I was dispatched for refused my treatment, so I figured while I was there I would check to see the dogs they had. The first dog that caught my eye was Rubie, and I feel in love with her instantly. She barked at me, and kinda chewed on my hand as I tried to pet her. I knew she would be the perfect dog for me. I went out to the counter and told the manager I wanted the ACD puppy. He told me that they had about 20 applications for the dog and that I had to wait and see if any of them adopted her. I laughed and said " you know, the next life I save just might be yours. (ha ha)" the manager laughed and said he would see what he could do. that night I got the phone call to come pick her up if I still wanted to adopt her. Its been 2 months now and she never seems to stop making me smile. She goes to work with me every day, and I am even checking into training her for search and rescue.
