This is Vashti. She is about 10 mos. old. We found this abused and abandonded dog on our friend's ranch. She had a hernia because someone kicked her in the stomach, she was dehydrated, half starved, tick and flea ridden, and thoroughly miserable. We fell in love with her instantly, and $1,000 later, she is a healthy, happy doggie. We love her to bits. The vet tells us she is a heeler/border collie mix, but even he's not sure. She has all the herding, heel nipping instincts of both breeds. She barks at strangers but if we are friendly, she is friendly. She has a harder time with other dogs and warms up more slowly. She now knows how to sit, lie down, come when called, leave it be, loose leash walk (which we are still working on) and shake paws. She and the cat, Gabby, like to play chase. All in all, she is a thoroughly wonderful dog.
